Mayweather vs. De La Hoya II

Mayweather Vs. De La Hoya II may be on for next May, seeing now at days that Oscar is a full time promoter and part time fighter. He was looking for an opponent when his wife Millie asked him not to fight any more Puerto Rican fighters with respect to her heritage, so that canceled out Miguel Cotto. The next in line was supposed to be Antonio Margarito who has a straight forward style and is not hard to miss. But for Oscar and Golden Boy Promotions a second fight with Mayweather makes the most sense financially. Both of them can fight and the next day go cash checks worth about $25 million or more for their efforts. Promoter Bob Arum who once had De La Hoya and Mayweather as part of the Top Rank Stable had this to share with another website.

"That fight is a done deal." "I don't think Oscar really wanted to fight Cotto," adding. "I think he used a possible fight with Cotto to put leverage on Mayweather in their negotiations. I knew it wasn't going to happen because the truth is, if Oscar fought Cotto, he'd be in for a serious beating.

Arum then took a stab at Mayweather Jr. a fighter he once promoted, saying "And with Mayweather, he just plays around. It's not a real ... nobody gets hurt."
