Greene and Kid Chocolate Victorious At Roseland

At the Roseland Ballroom in Manhattan in front of a sold out crowd, "Mean" Joe Greene improved to 17-0 (12KO's) by handling tough veteran Patrick Thompson 12-12-1 (5KO's) over eight rounds. Greene over the first four rounds landed breath taking power shots in was a matter of how long could he take them. Thompson who has a made in the USA iron jaw withstood the onslaught. In round 5 Thompson began to hold onto Greene while rubbing his glove in his face. This tactic frustrated Greene the NABA champion which helped Thompson survive. Thompson elected to box over the next few rounds and landed some decent shots to keep the agressive stalking Greene off him.

Peter "Kid Chocolate" Quillan improved to 16-0 (13KO's) floowing a second round KO of Troy Lowery 27-8 (16KO's) Quiilan dominated the first round and then rocked him before putting him down. Lowery did not look good on his stool between rounds. 32 seconds into round two Quillan unleashed a monster left hook that would of probably stopped a cruiserweight. The referee Arthur Mcante jr. was waiving off the fight before Lowery even hit the canvas.
